I took part in a summer school in Scotland, two weeks of British and Irish literature. Great. Then, one day, I walked past this little shop on the Royal Mile, with lovely miniature models on display. I walked in to have a closer look, I've always loved tiny things. Especially detailed tiny things. I shouldn't have done that.
I was immediately greeted by a bunch of nice people, invited to take a look at everything, to try to paint a mini - and that was the moment when my fall to the Dark Side begun. It wasn't as difficult as it looked. (I know, it's probably even more difficult when I want to do it *right*, but at that moment...) And the figures were so cool-looking. And the guys there promised me to guide me in painting, step by step, and lend me their paints.
So I bought a tiny Wood Elf lady and spent three days out of the two week stay painting it.
And this is the result.
Now... I really must make a forest for her, she seems so lost and lonely on my shelf.
And that is where this blog comes in. I think I've promised the very same guys who are responsible for this whole mess I would keep them updated and who knows, maybe the blog of a crazy newbie may be useful for someone. What not to do or something... :)
